Our green tea extract is made from the leaves of the plant Camellia sinesis and standardized to contain 50% EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate). EGCG is considered the most significant active compound in green tea and is thought to possess antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, antitumorigenic and antibiotic properties. In experimental studies, green tea exerts greater antioxidant protection than Vitamin C and E as well as increasing the activity of antioxidant enzymes.
